Traveling Writing Sprints Workshop with Michelle Hazen

  • The Cabin 801 S Capitol Blvd Boise United States (map)

About This Workshop

Are you lacking a little inspiration lately? Would you like to make more local writer friends? The Cabin is hosting a day of Traveling Writing Sprints to bring local writers together and supercharge your inspiration! We'll be getting away from screens and roaming the city in small groups. All you need is a notebook and a pen as your group follows their whimsy from cafes to bars to parks in the vein of famous cafe writers like Hemingway and Malcolm Gladwell. You'll be looking to each other and the world around you for inspiration, then writing in short, timed bursts. There's no need to already have a project in process. Your work can take the form of free-writes, lyrics, flash fiction, or poems, giving your imagination the freedom to wander without constraint. You can wrap up your sprints early if your schedule dictates, or write all afternoon and finish the day with an optional reading at the Cabin, where writers share their favorite pieces produced during the sprints. Writers of any experience level or genre are welcome. Come join us to expand your local writing community and refill your creative well!
