In the previous century’s roaring 20s, salons were all the rage. Gertrude Stein welcomed all manner of Modernists to her home in Paris, while Dorothy Parker helped gather NYC artists around the Algonquin Round Table.
You started refilling your well. You’re exploding your creative practice. In this third six-week workshop of Heidi Kraay’s Refilling series, we invite you to gather with writers and artists across disciplines to fall in love with each other’s work – in order to see your own more clearly. We learn what we do when we share our work with people who do things differently, and through experiencing, discussing and inquiring into what others create across genres. We’ll spend most of our time presenting projects in progress, using Liz Lerman’s Critical Response Process to give feedback. Over time, we’ll build up our own autonomy as makers on our path to (re)grow our art and ourselves.
This session works particularly well as a follow-up to the Refilling Your Creative Well and Exploding Your Creativity workshops, but all are welcome. Come prepared for our first session by bringing a short piece in any discipline to introduce yourself and be ready to develop a project in progress that excites you.
