The book that changed my life is The Dinner by Herman Koch. I can’t really say if any one book has changed my life.I am an avid reader as most of us on the Cabin Board surely are, but this book made a significant impact on my understanding of the difficult decisions parents make—if not the hardest of their lives—to protect their children. This decision is made over the course of just one dinner among very close friends. This was my first novel by Herman Koch, but I have gone on to read several others and found them to be all as insightful into human nature as this was.
