Emily Lavelle
Emily Lavelle, Board President is a writer, editor, book publicist, and publishing consultant. In her nearly two decades working in the book publishing industry, she's written with, edited, and publicized the works of two Nobel-Prize winning authors, National Book Award winners, Freedom Scholars, Whiting Award Grant Winners, MacArthur "genius" Award winners, and many New York Times bestsellers. As founder of Emily Lavelle Communications, she works not only with authors and publishers but also with think tanks, nonprofits, and universities on communications and writing projects.
In 2017 she traded in the skyline of New York City, where she lived for a decade, for the foothills of Boise. A devoted lover of the outdoors, she is often hiking with her rescue dog, Redford, riding horses on ranches around the American West, or at the peephole of her telescope.
She is at work on a novel, which she is co-writing with twin sister Lauren Lavelle. They are represented by Allison Hunter at Trellis LIterary Management. Previously, she served as Secretary and Vice President of The Cabin's Board of Directors.
