We've all had an idea for a book, right? Maybe you've been pondering this idea since middle school. Maybe you've even tried writing it a couple of times. But, as many of us quickly discover, getting that book out of your head and onto the page can be a daunting task. The purpose of this workshop is to give new/aspiring authors the tools, skills, and support they need to finish writing their first book. We will review techniques for organizing your ideas, plotting and outlining your story, and setting realistic goals for yourself. We will also practice elements of the craft: dialogue, world-building, character development, etc. This workshop is especially designed for science fiction & fantasy authors, but writers from all flavors of genre fiction are welcome.
