“Refilling Your Creative Well” Writing Workshop with Boise City Writer-in-Residence Heidi Kraay

  • Erma Hayman House 617 Ash St Boise, ID, 83703 United States (map)

We hope you'll join Boise City Writer-in-Residence Heidi Kraay on Wednesday, September 25, from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Erma Hayman House (617 Ash Street, Boise) for "Refilling Your Creative Well: Session 6.”

In these workshops for writers and artists across disciplines, participants will explore new pathways for refilling their creative wells, renewing artistic energy, and reawakening their wild spirits within.

In Session 6, participants will practice finding the ease and joy of being here now. Guided by Heidi, participants will write out the small steps they can take to progress toward their creative goals. This final session will also provide those who have attended one or more “Refilling Your Creative Well” workshops to reflect on their journey and share their hopes and endeavors for the future.

“Refilling Your Creative Well” is a six-part workshop series in which each session connects and builds upon each other and can be attended as either progressive or singular experiences.

No registration is required to participate, but space is limited. This workshop is geared toward adults. As mature content may be discussed, parental discretion is advised for participants under 18. Please bring writing materials, such as a notebook and pen.

ABOUT HEIDI KRAAY

Playwright and writer-across-disciplines Heidi Kraay examines the link between brain and body, seeking empathy with fractured characters. She collides myth, metaphor, and monsters to discover connections across difference. Dramatic work has been presented in Boise, regionally, in NYC and internationally. Heidi’s play for middle-grade audiences Wolf/Girl received its university premiere this year at Boise State University. Plays for adults include three exploring the hidden monsters inside us: Take Me Away, see in the dark, How to Hide Your Monster, additional full-lengths, co-devised projects, plays for young audiences, and shorts. You can find selected dramatic publications through Smith & Kraus and Applause. Projects in other disciplines include 12 Lifetimes: A Century Cycle, a memoir-adjacent book of essays in the ancient century form available through Modern Mythographer, and Drown to Resurface, an album of poem-songs available on Bandcamp. Heidi holds an MFA from the California Institute of Integral Studies and is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America. Heidi is pursuing a Certificate in Dramatic Writing through the Dramatists Guild Institute and is oh-so grateful to be one of two inaugural Boise City Writers-in-Residence. www.heidikraay.com
