Join us for a lecture with Laila Lalami, novelist, finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award, and author of The Moor’s Account and The Other Americans.
LAILA LALAMI was born in Rabat and educated in Morocco, Great Britain, and the United States. She is the author of four novels, including The Moor’s Account, which won the American Book Award and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Her most recent novel, The Other Americans, was a Los Angeles Times bestseller, a best-of-2019 selection from NPR, Time, and Kirkus, and a finalist for the National Book Award in Fiction. Her essays and criticism have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, Harper’s, the Guardian, and the New York Times. In fall 2020, she will release Conditional Citizens, a nonfiction exploration of how the rights, liberties, and protections of American citizenship are not always uniformly applied.
