Journaling for Mental Wellness with Kalee Schwarting

Whether you journal regularly or are new to writing as self-care, this workshop will equip you with basic principles of trauma-informed wellness writing. It will offer a variety of specific prompts you can use again and again, all designed to help you explore inner resources, process difficult experiences, and gain increased insight into your thoughts, feelings and relationships. You will have the opportunity to write, reflect, and share during as you practice new techniques to integrate into your self-care routine.

*Please note that this is an educational writing workshop, and not intended as psychotherapy or other mental health care.

  • Day 1: Principles of Wellness Writing: Resourcing, Titration, Pendulation (the sandwich), Somatic Tracking & SIBAM Journaling prompts: 3 wishes, 5 senses description of a person, place or animal that has been a support, description of a memory with SIBAM/Pyramid of abstraction

  • Day 2: Unintegrated Resources & Corrective Experiences: Possible Exercises: Letter to newborn self, obituaries & memory from childhood with non-dominant hand, re-write a difficult experience

This two-session writing workshop will be in person from 6 PM to 8 PM at Push & Pour (214 E 34th St, Garden City, ID 83714) on the following days:

Cost

$70 for non-members or $60 for Members
