Journaling for Mental Wellness with Kalee Schwarting

Whether you journal regularly or are new to writing as self-care, this workshop will equip you with basic principles of trauma-informed wellness writing. It will offer a variety of specific prompts you can use again and again, all designed to help you explore inner resources, process difficult experiences, and gain increased insight into your thoughts, feelings and relationships. You will have the opportunity to write, reflect, and share during as you practice new techniques to integrate into your self-care routine.

*Please note that this is an educational writing workshop, and not intended as psychotherapy or other mental health care.

  • Day 1: Principles of Wellness Writing: Learn how to get the right "dosage," how to tune into the signals of your body, and 3 somatic-based writing prompts that will help you feel more grounded and resourced.

  • Day 2: Unintegrated Resources & Corrective Experiences: Building on the skills learned in day 1, explore 4 prompts utilizing narrative, parts work, and somatic principles to help you integrate and tolerate varied experiences in life.

This two-session writing workshop will be in person from 6 PM to 8 PM at Push & Pour (214 E 34th St, Garden City, ID 83714) on the following days:

Cost

$70 for non-members or $60 for Members
