About this 6-week workshop:
Conflict is no stranger to our daily lives —so what can writers learn from it? In storytelling, tension is a tool; it captures the attention of the audience and propels the narrative forward. Characters, like real people, reveal who they are under pressure. And often, the way a conflict is resolved can be the most powerful aspect of a story. In this workshop, we will explore the role of tension and resolution in short fiction and respond to weekly writing prompts inspired by our discussion. This is a virtual class which will use Zoom. Participants will interact live with the instructor and will receive materials in advance of class to ensure rich discussion and engagement. Writers of all abilities are welcome.
